Sclerotherapy

(River Road only)
Sclerotherapy is a procedure used for spider veins on the lower extremities. Using an ultra fine needle, a hypertonic salt solution is injected into the veins. This creates an irritation within the vein causing the vessel walls to adhere, or stick together. Without blood flow to keep them open, the veins are reabsorbed into the body. The procedure is well tolerated without anesthesia, but topical local anesthetic is available through our office at a nominal charge.
