John Z.S. Chen M.D, F.A.A.D.
Dr. Chen received his dermatology specialty training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan following a general medical internship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Born and raised in Shenyang, Northeastern China, Dr. Chen received his medical degree from China Medical University in Shenyang, and came to the United States in 1992 as a research fellow sponsored by the National Institute of Health. He did extensive research at Emory University where he was recognized for his outstanding work on skin diseases and cutaneous biology. He has been awarded national research grants and was the recipient of the Dermatology Foundation Research Fellowship Award in 1994.
Board certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, he is a Fellow in both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and is designated as an Associate of the American College of MOHS Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. Dr. Chen has completed Fellowships on MOHS Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the University of Louisville. In addition, he completed a laser and cosmetic dermatologic fellowship at the Laser and Skin Center of New York.
An avid scholar, Dr. Chen has published numerous scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters, and is a nationally renowned instructor and lecturer.
